The Dominican Republic continues to attract French long-haul travelers. Over 200 professionals gathered in Paris for an exceptional evening.
In the presence of Mr. David Collado, Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, the country’s Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) reaffirmed its commitment to the French tourism industry by organizing an exceptional evening at the Pavillon Cambon with over 200 industry professionals (tour operators, travel agents, airlines, specialized media and institutional partners).

A destination in the process of winning back the French market
T he Dominican Republic retains a strategic position in the long-haul offer and remains one of France’s favorite destinations: in fact, the country has already recorded 69,431 French arrivals between January and April 2025.
In 2024, the country welcomed 142,456 French tourists, representing 19% of total European arrivals and 2% of the international total. This strong link with France is illustrated by a remarkable level of loyalty: 86% of French travellers say they intend to return, according to data provided by MITUR during the roadshow.
A consistently high level of satisfaction
The Dominican Republic continues to convince with the quality of its offer. French tourists gave it an average satisfaction rating of 4.3/5, illustrating the quality of the services on offer, whether in terms of hotels, hospitality or tourist experiences.
Another key point: 77% of French travellers arrive via Punta Cana airport, a major hub for beach tourism in the Caribbean region.
Targets set for 2025
The roadshow was also an opportunity for the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Tourism to present its future development priorities, including :
Diversification of the offering towards nature, culture and adventure segments
Strengthening partnerships with French travelers
A strengthened air strategy, with new connections being negotiated between the Dominican Republic and France.
The Dominican Republic will be the featured destination at the next IFTM 2025 trade show, to be held in Paris from Tuesday September 23 to Thursday September 25, 2025.

The destination continues to diversify, with the rise of regions such as Miches, Samaná, Puerto Plata, Santiago, Santo Domingo, La Romana and, of course, the iconic Punta Cana .
